A cold autumn evening, lots of friends gathered in backyard, remembering old memories. A perfect picture, but this evening will sparkle more if delicious food is added in this picture. What can be more appetizing than grilled food! All the friends clustered around the grill, cooking, laughing and cherishing these moments.
But, the problem is how to start the charcoal grill? Don’t worry I am here to solve this problem of yours. Just follow the steps given below and enjoy the perfect evening with your friends.
THINGS YOU NEED
Charcoal briquettes, grill pan, matchbox, kerosene oil (optional) or any
other starter fluid, a stack of newspapers, blower and a hand fan or
electric fan.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wash the grill rack properly. Grease with oil so that it becomes non
sticking
2. Take sufficient quantity of charcoal briquettes. About 30 charcoal
briquettes will be adequate for one pound meat.
3. Spread the briquettes evenly in the pan to make sure you have enough
to make a single layer in your pan.
4. Now build a pyramid of your charcoal briquettes in the middle of
grill.
5. Use a charcoal chimney if you are not using kerosene oil or any other
starter fluid.
FOR CHARCOAL CHIMNEY
6. If you are using charcoal chimney, stack newspaper at the bottom of
pyramid and the charcoal at the top. The starter should be in the middle
of the pan.
7. Light the newspaper through gaps in the pyramid.
WHEN USING LIGHTING FLUID
8. When using kerosene oil, pour the fluid uniformly on the charcoal
briquettes and let it get absorbed in the charcoal. It will take few
minutes.
9. Light the pyramid of charcoals with a matchstick. Start fanning the
briquettes so that the coals light up properly.
10. You can also use a blower and blow the air at the base of the pile.
It will enhance the fire.
It will take approximately 30 minutes for the coals to reach appropriate
temperature. Once required temperature is obtained spread the charcoals
evenly. Use long tongs and oven mittens for spreading.
